About Us

Brief History

"In 1995, a group of volunteer psychologists from the Ateneo de Manila University started developing and teaching modules in psychology as a response to address the inmates' psychological needs. Modules in counseling and general psychology, which included a course on understanding the self and the inmates' family, an examination of cognitive distortions, and understanding concerns about adjustment to the mainstream societyTheir commitment to a psychoeducational approach to prison reformation...has been found to be helpful in reforming their cognitive belief as well as in managing their emotions and behavior (Saplala, 2004)."

Philippine Journal of Psychology, Volume 44, No.2, p. 154
